'Woody' Myers, 58 of rural Robinson, IL, died at 6:59 a.m. Sunday, June 08, 2008 unexpectedly of an apparent heart attack at the emergency room of Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson. He was born September 30, 1949 in Indianapolis, IN, the son of Charles Loren Myers, Sr. and Lillierose McDaniel Myers. Woody was a oil and gas well inspector with the State of Illinois, Division of Natural Resources. He served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War and served 2 tours in Vietnam. He was a member of the Robinson American Legion Post #69, the Robinson V. F. W. Post #4549, and the Amvets Post #33.He married Nancy Crew on September 1, 1973 and she survives. He is also survived by 3 sons, Woody Myers Jr., Terre Haute, IN, Joseph and his wife Michelle Myers, Palestine, Tom Myers, Robinson; 2 grandchildren, Ashton Myers and Vince Myers, Louis, IN; his mother, Lillierose Myers, Palestine; his sister, Anne Richardson, Palestine, and his brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Elaine Myers, Florida. He was preceded in death by his father; his daughter, Michelle Anne Myers; and two brothers, Charles Loren Myers, Jr. and Frank Myers.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 11th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. Pastor Joe Griffith is in charge of services. Burial will be at 3 p.m., Sunday, June 22, 2008 in the Palestine Cemetery. Visitation is from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 10th and until service time on Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled Children with envelopes at the funeral home.
