Ruthie grew up in the Robinson area and was a 1949 graduate of Robinson High School. A wife and homemaker of 63 years with Edward R. Kinchen, they spent their first few of marriage in Evanston, IL and then returned to Crawford County. Here, she embraced a rich farm life of family and beloved friends. Ruth loved people and animals of all kinds. She cared for them all like pets with an incredible energy, be it two-legged or four. She had such a compassion for even the smallest creatures. Ruth worshiped the Lord at Porterville Congregational Church. Anyone who knew her could attest to the fact that she loved music and loved listening from anything from Glenn Miller to Barry White. Her final years were spent at Arbor Rose. There, she made even more friends and family. Her favorite line to everyone was, “let’s get your ‘red dress on’”, often followed by, “lets boogie”! Come celebrate a life well-lived with your “red dress on” at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson, where a time of visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 1st. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 2nd at the funeral home with burial following in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the “Alzheimer’s Association-Arbor Rose Chapter”, with envelopes available at the funeral home. Boogie on Ruthie, heaven-style!
