Wilma Mae Alumbaugh, 88, of Palestine died at 3:45 a.m. on November 21, 2010 at her home. She was born September 12, 1922 in Heathsville, IL, the daughter of James Weaver Maddox and Amy Brashear Maddox. Wilma worked the family farm with her husband Gerald for years, and also worked for some time in production at L.S. Heath & Sons and the hairpin factory in Palestine. She was active as a member of the Pleasant View Church as well as the Crawford County Farm Bureau and the Heathsville Election Board.She married Gerald Alumbaugh on November 8, 1947 and he preceded her in death on March 22, 1984. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Gerald and Jim Maddox; and two sisters, Vera Joann and Virginia Maddox.She is survived by her son, Rick Alumbaugh, Palestine; her three daughters, Vickie Lynn Perkins, Palestine, Brenda Lee Eakins and her husband Mike, Flat Rock, Kim Alumbaugh, Palestine; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; her brother, Gene Maddox, Palestine; Her sister, Maxine Zeller, Palestine; as well as several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 24 at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine, with Pastor Paul Phillips presiding over the services. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 23 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Pleasant View Cushion Fund for Pews, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
