Willis Hart, 84 of Palestine, IL, died at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, July 05, 2008 at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, IL. He was born September 28, 1923 in Sullivan, IN, the son of Willis I. Hart and Ida May Dugan Hart. He served in the U. S. Army during WWII and Korea, attaining the rank of Master Sergeant with over 22 years in service. He was a member of the Oak Grove Federated Church, rural Palestine; a member of the Robinson Masonic Lodge #250; and had been a Worthy Patron of the Order Of the Eastern Star.Willis married Wanda Knoblett May 7, 1947 and she preceded him in death March 5, 2006. He was also preceded in death by his parents; his son, Eddie; his sister, Loraine Thomas; and his half sister, Lucille Hanson.He is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Adrian and Lois Hart, Jacksonville, FL and Earl and Esmond Hart, Mesa, WA; special friends, William and Sharlene Booth, West York; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 9th at 2:00 p.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, rural Palestine. Visitation is one hour preceding the service on Wednesday. Military graveside services will be conducted by the combined units of the Robinson American Legion Post #69, the Robinson V. F. W. Post #4549, the Amvets Post #33, and the Flat Rock American Legion Post #132.
