William J. Hussey, Sr., 86, of Robinson, IL died at 1:04 p.m. (EST) on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. He was born on November 17, 1932 in Vincennes, IN, the son of Robert Hussey & Rachael (Webster) Stanley; both of whom preceded him in death. He married Betty Harvey on December 23, 1955 and she preceded him in death on February 26, 2017. He is also preceded in death by his son, Gary Wayne Hussey; by his daughter & son-in-law, Vivian G. Roberts & Gary D. Roberts; by his grandsons, Andrew Hussey and Bryant Roberts; by his brother, Bob Hussey; and by his sister, Mary Hussey. He is survived by his son & daughter-in-law, William Hussey, Jr. & Myrna K. Tinsley Hussey (Mt. Carmel, IL); by his grandchildren & their spouses, Heather & Zac Stephens (Robinson, IL), Crystal & Curt Parker (Clarksville, TN), J.J. & Stevee Roberts (Robinson, IL), Daniel Hussey (Robinson, IL); by his great-grandchildren, Dylyn, Kenton, Matthew, Jace, Maddux, Laine Landree and Zoe; by his sister, Jean Fox (Vincennes, IN); by his step-brother, Eugene Stanley (KY); by his step-sister, Margie Devin (KY); by his brother-in-law, Robert Harvey (Henderson, KY); as well as several nieces and nephews. Bill proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He went to work for Briggs Pottery for several years. Away from work he stayed active in the American Legion #69, V.F.W. Post #4549 as well as the V.F.W. Lawrence Military Order of Cooties. He was a member of the Palestine Masonic Lodge #849 and the Danville Consistory. Bill was also a lifelong and avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. A time of visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00p.m. on Saturday, June 29th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. A graveside service will immediately follow and will be held at the Robinson New Cemetery, where military services will be conducted by the combined units of the Robinson V.F.W. Post #4549, the Robinson American Legion Post #69, and the Flat Rock American Legion Post #132. Memorials may be made to “V.F.W. Transportation Fund”, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
