William Harry Ramsey

William Harry Ramsey, 86, of Oaktown, IN, formerly of Palestine, IL, died at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at the Lawrenceville Manor, Lawrenceville, IL. He was born August 21, 1920 in Mississippi the son of Earnest Ramsey and Audra Shanks Ramsey. He served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. He was a truck driver for Custom Farm Service. He was a member of the Vincennes and Paxton Church of God.He married Mable Ramsey December 24, 1939 and she preceded him in death January 18, 2003. He was also preceded in death by his parents; 2 daughters, Patricia Fowler and Rebecca Sue Arnold; 1 son, William R. Ramsey; and 5 brothers, Hugh, Dale, Claude, Jim, and Everett Ramsey.He is survived by 1 son-in-law, Marcie Arnold, Vincennes; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and 1 brother and sister-in-law, Dean and Bonnie Ramsey, TX.Graveside services will be held at 12 noon Saturday, April 28, 2007 at Oak Grove Cemetery of rural Palestine, IL. The Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to United Methodist Village- North Campus.
