William E. Liston, Jr

William E. Liston Jr (better known as “Junior”) died at 1:31 a.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2016 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family. He was born May 11, 1954 in Lawrenceville, IL, the son of William Liston Sr and Alice (Brush) Liston. Junior worked for Road Master in Olney, IL for many years before working for Parish Oil. He enjoyed being outside, working on cars, and especially loved spending time with his family and friends. He was an active member of the Potter’s House Ministry, being involved in the men's group also helping teach Sunday school. Junior was well known in the community and was always willing to help anyone who needed it. He is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth Liston (Reyes) of Newton, IL, Crystal DeWeese (Lutz) of Willow Hill, IL, Chassidy Goad (Roberts) of Willow Hill, IL, and Brandy Liston (Alspach) of Annapolis, IL; by his sons, Bill Liston of Olney, IL and Robert Liston of Olney, IL; by 12 grandchildren; and by one great-grandchild due in December. Junior is also survived by his sisters, Donna Liston (Rowe) of Palestine, IL and Sarah Liston (McCain) of Charlottesville, VA; by his brother, Jug Liston of California; by several nieces and nephews; and by his significant other, Karen Wisdom (Liston) of Newton, IL. Junior was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister, Rose Liston (Courtney). A time of visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 15th at the Potter’s House Ministry, located at 1 Kennedy Dr. in Newton, IL. Funeral services will follow and will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Pastors Ron Mulvey and Scott Larson officiating the service. Cremation will follow the funeral service. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson, IL is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the William Liston Jr Memorial Fund, with checks made payable to Goodwine Funeral Homes.
