William David Fry

November 22, 1952 — December 29, 2019

William "Bill" David Fry, 67, of Casey, IL, died Sunday, December 29, 2019, at Sarah Bush Hospital in Mattoon, IL, with his loving cousin and best friend, Marilyn Fain at his bedside. He was born November 22, 1952, in Robinson, IL, the son of Robert "Bob" Martin Fry & Clellene "Ruby" (McCarty) Fry, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his loving step-mother, Irene (Goff) Fry; by his brother, Jack Martin Fry; as well as several aunts and uncles. He is survived by his loving cousin, Marilyn (Fry) Fain (Hidalgo, IL); by his brother & sister-in-law, Clell & Rita Fry (Stoy, IL); by his niece and nephew, Melissa K. Zerkel & husband Loren (Olney, IL) and Kevin L. Fry & wife Lindsey (Robinson, IL); and great-nephew, Blake Robert Fry. He will also be dearly missed by his friends and the entire staff at Casey Health Care Center in Casey. Anyone who knew him could attest to the fact that Bill Fry was one-of-a-kind. He was a simple man, a down-to-earth soul who found joy in the little things of life. Few things brought him more joy than sitting down for a hearty meal. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors, as evidenced by the countless hours that found him hunting and fishing. Time at home found him crocheting numerous treasures for those he loved. They will remember Bill as a big "teddy bear" of sorts; his heart was kind, and he was always took the time to listen to those who needed to talk. Through all of his disabilities, he lived his life with a passion, and filled his 67 years with beauty, compassion, and love. May we all be so fortunate to know such fullness. It was Bill's wish to be cremated without a public service. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements.
