Versa Opal Gullett, 103, of Palestine, IL, died at 12:57 p.m. Monday, June 22, 2009 at the Convalescent Center, Robinson, IL. She was born August 25, 1905 in Prairie Township, Crawford County, IL, the daughter of Harvey J. Abbott and Mary E. Thompson Abbott. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors and attended the Palestine First Christian Church.She married Robert Gullett December 5, 1925 and he preceded her in death on March 25, 1971. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her son, Floyd Gullett; and 2 sisters, Venus Sears and Vesta Shimer.She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Leonard Paul and Anita Gullett, Palestine; her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Dennis Harrison, Palestine; 5 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.Arrangements are pending Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine.
