Vernon Kent Drum

Vernon Kent Drum, 63 of West Union, died Monday, April 26, 2010 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN at 1:41 a.m. (e.s.t.).He was born December 27, 1946 in Terre Haute, IN, the son of Olen Drum and Imogene Cummings Drum. He spent most of his life in the West Union area. As a young boy he joined the First Baptist Church of West Union. Although his life was filled with trials and challenges involving his health, he was driven to overcome them and meet the challenges. While others would want to give up, Vernon was determined to live.His father, Olen Drum and his daughter, Michelle Drum Midgett preceded him in death.Survivors include two sons and his daughter-in-law, Ron Drum, Robinson, and Don and Amy Marie Drum, also of Robinson; his daughter, Danielle Drum, Marshall; his mother, Imogene Cummings Drum, West Union; a brother, Ronald Drum, West Union; a sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and James Feltt, Vincennes, IN; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be Friday, April 30th at 10:00 a.m. at the Prust-Hosch Funeral Home in West Union with burial in the Harrison Cemetery, rural West Union. Brother Don Russell is officiating. Visitation is from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 29th at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the West Union First Baptist Church.
