Vera Irene Buchanan

Vera Irene Bex Buchanan, 75, of Palestine, IL, died at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at her residence. She was born November 19, 1933 in Palestine, IL, the daughter of Johnnie Kimberlin and Sylvia Cummins Kimberlin. She was a secretary at Country Companies for 15 years, and she was a member of the Palestine First Presbyterian Church.Vera married Howard Bex in 1952 and he preceded her in death on March 5, 1979. She married Paul Buchanan on February 15, 1989 and he preceded her in death on November 12, 1993. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and 3 brothers, Bill, Jim, and Bob Kimberlin.Vera is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Darrell “Ace” and Nancy Bex, Mooresville, NC; her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Jim Fuller, Palestine; 4 grandchildren and their spouses, Tammy and Dustin Kennedy, Palestine, Lisa and Jeremy Beabout, Palestine, Clint and Judi Bex, Ballantyne, NC and Laci Bex, Matthews, NC; 5 great grandchildren, Wyatt Kennedy, Palestine, Alysa Kennedy, Palestine, Zoey Beabout, Palestine, Brody Beabout, Palestine, and Owen Bex, Ballantyne, NC; and a special friend, Pat Mehler, Palestine.Funeral services will be held at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 19th. Rev. Paul Phillips is in charge of services. Burial will be in the Palestine Cemetery. Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday. Memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice, with envelopes at the funeral home.
