Velma Marie Shipman

Velma Marie Shipman, 93, of Robinson, IL, died at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson. She was born October 11, 1914 in Honey Creek Township, Crawford County, IL, the daughter of John Michael Kelly and Emma Love Kelly. She was a homemaker.She married Ray Shipman May 22, 1937 and he preceded her in death on March 9, 1977. She was also preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers, Kenneth, Donald and Arthur Kelly; 1 sister, Nora Blosser; 2 half brothers, Otis Meeks and Carl Meeks; and half sister, Goldie Tedford.She is survived by several nieces and nephews.Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 2008, at the Robinson New Cemetery, Robinson with Rev. Glen Rosborough officiating. The Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Robinson Township Library with envelopes available at the funeral home.
