Velma L. Rollings

Velma L. Rollings, 86, of rural Flat Rock, IL, died at 3:46 a.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at her residence. She was born September 10, 1922 in Owen County, IN, the daughter of Glen Minnick and Ina Huber Minnick. She was a homemaker and a member of the Flat Rock United Methodist Church, Flat Rock.She married Glenn Rollings on October 29, 1943 and he survives. She is also survived by 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Larry Branson, Flat Rock, Kathy and Jared Schanely, Waxhaw, NC, Glenna Manship, Robinson; 6 grandchildren and their spouses, Tim and Lisa Branson, Discovery Bay, CA, David and Bobbi Jo Branson, Palestine, Adelle Schanely, China, Philip and Karen Schanely, Ohio, and Brooke Manship and Blake Manship, both of Robinson; 5 great grandchildren, Zachary, Madyson, and Caitlin Branson of Discovery Bay, CA, Lexi and Layni Branson,Palestine; 1 brother, Daniel Minnick, Greencastle, IN; 3 sisters and brothers-in-law, Jayne and Carlyle Coffman, Ormand Beach, FL, JoAnn Cantwell, Bloomington, IN, and Donna Jean and Gary McCarter, Huntley, IL; her sister-in-law, Eleanor Rollings, Florida.She was preceded in death by her parents; and her step-father, William J. Evans.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 23rd at the Flat Rock United Methodist Church, with Rev. John E. Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Jones Cemetery, rural Flat Rock. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Friday,at the church. The Goodwine Funeral Home, Flat Rock is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Flat Rock United Methodist Church.
