Tina Louise Brown

Tina Louise Brown, 52, of West Union, IL, passed away on Friday, February 18, 2022, in the comfort of her home. She was born June 21, 1969, in Sullivan, IN, the daughter of Edgar Wayne Kinney & Tori Susan (Clatfelter) Harrelson. She grew up in the Robinson area, where she attended school before marrying Jason Brown on November 25, 1987. They enjoyed 34 years of marriage before her passing. In addition to her husband, she is also survived by her mother, Tori Harrelson (McLeansboro, IL); her sister, Bea Zoiss (Crestwood, IL); as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Edgar Wayne Kinney; her step-father, Kenneth Wayne Harrelson; and her grandparents, Dale Clatfelter, Louise Teter, Lyman Kinney, and Essie Kinney. Though Tina worked in a number of other capacities, her primary role in life was that of caregiver. Her heart for the aged and elderly blossomed into her providing tender and dignified care for those in need. Her compassionate nature was further evidenced by her love of animals. Many stray cats and dogs found a home with Tina, as did hundreds of hummingbirds who came to feed at her bird feeders and trumpet vines. The owner of a green thumb, she grew many other flowers in her garden and well-manicured landscaping as well. Tending to her zinnias, hibiscuses, and morning glories provided her with a great sense of accomplishment while bringing color to her community. We who were blessed enough to know this sweet woman could never forget the joy with which Tina lived, nor her selfless heart that beat for others. She lived a good life, filled with humor, joy, and beauty, but most of all, it was filled with love. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2nd, at the Harrison Cemetery, rural West Union, IL, with Pastor Art Orndorff officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the "Crawford County Humane Society", with envelopes available at the cemetery. The Prust-Hosch Funeral Home in West Union is in charge of arrangements.
