Michael BrashearThomas €œMichael€ Brashear, 61, of Oblong, IL, died at 6:18 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at the Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson. He was born March 31, 1949 in Robinson, IL, the son of Thomas C. Brashear and Juanita Lloyd Brashear. He was a heavy equipment operator and member of the Terre Haute Operators Union #841. He was also active in the Crawford County Amateur Radio Club, a member of the ESDA and was as a scuba diver for the Crawford County Rescue Squad. Michael enjoyed fishing, drag car racing but most of all, spending time with his grandkids.Mike is survived by his wife, Patricia Pethtel, Oblong; his mother, Juanita Brashear, Flat Rock; one son, Thomas Michael Brashear, Robinson; 5 daughters and sons-in-law, Shannon and Chris Roach, Lawrenceville, Amber and Steve Waldrop, Bel Aire, Angela and Lance Edwards, West Palm Beach, FL, Nikki and Larry Flats, Evansville, IN, and Kerry and Tim Watson, Flat Rock; 16 grandchildren; 3 brothers and sisters-in-law, Randall Mark and Donna Brashear, Sapulpa, OK, Jerry and Peggy Brashear, Flat Rock, and Roger and Christine Brashear, Flat Rock; as well as several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his father.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Flat Rock, with Jack Cunningham presiding over services. Burial will be in the Good Hope Cemetery, rural Flat Rock. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at the funeral home.
