Theo Mcdaniel Mills

Theo McDaniel Mills, 92, of Palestine, IL, died on May 13, 2021, at Cotillion Ridge in Robinson, IL. Theo was born on August 24, 1928, in Robinson to John Stewart & Fannie (Blakey) Stewart, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Bill McDaniel on December 13, 1947, and he preceded her in death on December 28, 1998. She married Charles Mills, Jr. on February 28, 2001, and he preceded her in death on July 24, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her brother, John Stewart. Theo was raised in the home of Eugene & Christine Salesberry after her mother's passing away from childbirth. She graduated from Palestine High School. Theo found work at Briggs Pottery as a supervisor of the billing department. After several years she found retirement. After retirement she moved to Bonita Springs, Florida. While in Florida she found interest in real estate and would then get her real estate license and sell many houses over the course of many years. Away from work she found enjoyment in crocheting and working on crafts. One of her most recent hobbies was knitting lap blankets for the veteran's hospital. She is survived by her sons & daughters-in-law, Bruce & Cindy McDaniel and David & Terrie McDaniel; by her grandson, Alex McDaniel; by her granddaughter, Samantha & Shawn Byrley; by her twin brother & spouse, Leo & Dorothy Stewart; by her stepdaughters, Sharron McKnight and Tammy Gumberts; by her stepson, Jeff Mills; by 4 step-granddaughters, 4 step-grandsons and 3 great step-grandsons, as well as several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 18th at the Palestine Cemetery, with Pastor Tim Watson officiating. Memorials may be made to the "Outer West Market Church of Christ", with envelopes available at the cemetery. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine is in charge of arrangements.
