Thelma Lorene Murphy, 94, of Robinson, IL, died at 1:00 a.m. Sunday, December 2, 2007 at Ridgeview Care Center, Oblong. She was born October 3, 1913 the daughter of Roscoe Fuson and Amanda Hall Fuson. She was a secretary and piano teacher. She and her husband, Luther operated the Parkway Market from 1947 to 1966. She was accomplished at playing the organ, piano, accordion, harpsichord and harmonica. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Robinson. Thelma was a loving Christian and enjoyed quilting, baking, fishing, gardening, and growing flowers.Thelma married Luther Leroy Murphy on March 2, 1936 and he preceded her in death on January 12, 2003. She was also preceded in death by a son and daughter-in-law, Winfred and Kathryn Murphy; a son-in-law, Darrell Sparks, and her brother, Roscoe Fuson.She is survived by 3 daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Coreta Sparks, Robinson, Donna and Kenneth Williams, Oblong, Cheryl and Richard Stephens, Robinson; 9 grandchildren, Johnnie Murphy, Stephanie Frichtl, Randy, Bryan, and Tyler Sparks, Kent Williams, Misty Keeler, Brent and Bradley Stephens; 19 great grandchildren, Lacey, Ciara, and Cody Murphy, Lauryn Frichtl, Kyle, Breana, and Macy Sparks, Matthew, Leah, Gabriel and Elijah Casey, Ashlie Williams, Jeremey and Corey Keeler, Brandon, Rhett, Kaitlyn, Bailey and Zachary Stephens.Graveside services will be held at 12:00 Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at the Oak Grove Cemetery, rural Palestine with Rev. Max Borah officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post #69 Equipment Fund. The Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson is in charge of arrangements.
