Thelma L. Preston

Thelma L. Preston, 88, of Robinson, died at 8:37 p.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2009 at Deaconess Hospice, Evansville, IN. She was born October 29, 1920 in Robinson, the daughter of LaClede and Florence (Knoblett) Laffoon. She was a member of the Prairie United Methodist Church, rural Oblong.Thelma married Herman Stantz on April 2, 1938 and he preceded her in death on May 25, 1956. She then married Richard Preston on May 11, 1960 and he preceded her in death on October 19, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Clyde Laffoon and LaClede Laffoon; and her sister, Juanita Wade.She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda K. and Jim Minor, Mt. Vernon, IN; 2 granddaughters; 3 great granddaughters; and 4 sisters, Pauline Galloway, Lake Wales, FL, Betty Welton, Lake Wales, FL, Peggy Cantwell, North Carolina, Shirley Bedwell, Springfield, MO; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 9, 2009, at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson, with Pastor Mark Tabor officiating. Burial will follow in the Robinson New Cemetery. Visitation will precede the service from 9:30-11:00 a.m., on Monday at the funeral home.
