Terry McDaniel, 80, of Palestine, IL, died on October 31, 2019, in the comfort of his home. He was born on June 23, 1939, in Kankakee, IL, the son of Carroll & Almeda (Miner) McDaniel, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his son, Anthony “Tony” Wayne McDaniel and by his brother, Larry McDaniel. He married Wilma Norton on September 28, 1958, and they were happily married for 61 years, and she survives. He is also survived by his children and spouses, Terri & Mark Fuller (Palestine, IL), Sherri & Mike Massie (Greenwood IN) and Roger & Sarah McDaniel (Indianapolis, IN); by his grandchildren, Ashlee Massie, Kelsey McDaniel, Christopher Massie, Brant & Sierra Fuller, Jacob McDaniel, and Jackson McDaniel; by his great-grandchildren, Tanner Fuller and Taylor Fuller; by his brother & sister-in-law, Tim & Linda McDaniel (Palestine, IL); by his sisters & brothers-in-law, Linda & George Fulling (Palestine, IL) and Cinda & Kenny Nelson (Palestine, IL); as well as several nieces and nephews. Terry was a high school graduate of Palestine High School. He worked for several years as a conductor for the Illinois Central Railroad. Terry was an avid sport's fan. He played baseball, basketball and football throughout high school. Later in life he enjoyed bowling for the Elks League. Throughout the years he coached the Babe Ruth Baseball, Little League and Peewee Football. If he wasn't coaching or playing sports, he would be found watching the Indianapolis Colts and the University of Illinois. Away from watching sports or talking about sports, he could be found outside working in the yard, gardening or fishing. He was also known for being in the kitchen. Terry was also a lifelong member of the First Christian Church in Palestine. Terry's family and friends will remember him as handsome, loving, and dependable man. He will be greatly missed by all. A time of visitation will be held from 4:00 -7:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 2nd at Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 3rd at the funeral home with Pastor Tom Akers officiating. Burial will be in the Palestine Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the "Now Program", with envelopes available at the funeral home.
