Teresa "Mama Kay" Keller, a jubilant spirit and a beacon of warmth, passed away unexpectedly on October 17, 2023, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, IN. She was born in Olney, IL, on January 28, 1962, to Patricia (Shidler) Marlowe Deisher and attended Richland County High School in Olney. She began her career as a bartender at Toot's Bar, where she transformed small talks into lasting friendships. Her later employments included EH Baare in Robinson, Lexel in Hutsonville, and Pioneer Labels in Palestine. She was not just a worker but a loyal colleague who found joy in the camaraderie of her workplace.
Like the butterflies she loved, she flitted around others, spreading love and joy, her laughter being the sweet nectar that drew folks in. She had a lasting effect on everyone she met - she listened, offered kind (and honest) words, decorated the world with optimism, and was swift to offer comfort with an embracing hug, a hot bowl of soup, or a plate full of biscuits and gravy. Her love for feeding people went beyond her kitchen; she nourished hearts. Though she enjoyed numerous pastimes - like playing pool, reading romance novels all day, and jamming out to tunes by AC/DC, Guns N Roses, Journey, and REO Speedwagon - her heart belonged to her kids, those she birthed and the ones she adopted along the way. Suffice it to say, if her kids loved you, so did she, and she would treat you as if you were her own. Though she loved her children, being a "Mimi" to her grandchildren was the delight of her life, and she held a special bond with each of them, as evidenced by the unique nicknames she gave them at birth.
In its final beat, the heart that loved so fiercely and laughed so joyfully has found rest, leaving the world a little dimmer but much kinder. Teresa "Mama Kay" Keller will be dearly missed, but her legacy of unconditional love, unadulterated joy, and unceasing optimism will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have shared in her incredible journey.
She is survived by her children, Tory Marlowe (Glen Ullin, ND), Donnie & wife Chelsea Keller (Noble, IL), Shelley Keller (Robinson, IL), and Amber Keller; by her grandkids, Dulcy Marlowe, Syla Keller, Paycen Keller, Ahlayna Keller, Hyndrix Shoulders, Ryder McCormick, and Dakota McCormick; by many more "kids" and "grandkids" that she picked up and adopted along the way; by her mother, Patricia (Shidler) Marlowe Deisher; by her brothers and their families; as well as her former husband and father of her children, Donald Keller. She was preceded in death by her brother, Bill.
A time of visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 24th, at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson.
