Steven V. Miller

Steven V. Miller, 62, of rural Palestine, IL, was called home at 6:45 p.m. Sunday, March 22, 2009 at his residence. He was born January 4, 1947 in Palestine, IL, the son of Glen E. Miller and Naomi Browning Miller. He was Plant Manager of Ameren Energy Generating Hutsonville Power Station. Steve loved to farm on his family farm. Steve was a lifetime member of the Pleasant View Church which he joined on March 22, 1959. He served as a Deacon for the church for over 30 years. He was also a member of the BPOE Elks Lodge #1188, Robinson, the U. of I. Alumni Association, and a member and Past President of the Palestine School Board.He married Sharon R. Martin on June 9, 1968 and she survives. He is also survived by 4 daughters and sons-in-law, Tamara R. and Jason Wesner, Palestine, Dana M. and Robert Locke, Carmel, IN, Susan Y. and J. D. Trimble, Robinson, Kristina R. and Scott Zane, Robinson; 10 grandchildren, Megan, Logan, Cole and Lance Wesner, Garrett and Jordan Locke, Caleb and Matthew Trimble, Marisa and Alexia Zane; his sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Clifford Adams, Palestine, his brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Pat Miller, Greencastle, IN; his uncle, Clarence and his wife, Marjorie Miller, Palestine; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 29th at the Pleasant View Church, rural Palestine with Pastors Paul Phillips and Paul Gettinger officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery, rural Palestine. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, March 28th at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine . Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society Hope Lodge, 411 Second St. NW, Rochester, MN 55901-2814, Good Samaritan Hospice, or to the Pleasant View Church. Envelopes will be available.
