Steve Queen

August 24, 1964 — February 18, 2021

Steve Queen, 56, of Douglas, GA, formerly of Robinson, IL, died at 2:15 p.m. February 18, 2021, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green, KY. Now that his life's journey is ended, we can see that he found victory, not at some high point along the way, but in having made the journey itself, mile after precious mile. That journey began on August 24, 1964, in Waycross, GA, when he was born to Dave Queen & Loretta (Cothren) Queen, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 17 years, Lesa Sue (Scott) Queen. He is survived by his children, C.R. Kuder (Mel), Randi Hughlett (Jeremie), Chance Queen (Nicole), Stephanie Queen, Toni Scott, Mara Queen (Jason), Lara Queen (Chuck), Steven Queen (Tiffany), Ashley Queen (Jake), Johnny Queen, Lori Queen (G.H.), and Paige Dolby; by several grandchildren; by his siblings, Jeffrey Queen (Roxanne), Johnny Queen (Greg), David Queen (Debbie), Lois Odom, and Johnny Odom; by several nieces and nephews; as well as the mother of many of his children, Rhonda Mosley. By all accounts, Steve was a man of the road. For 38 years, he drove countless miles as a truck driver for a number of trucking companies. Eventually, however, he was able to fulfill a dream of his by becoming an owner/operator and was able to work for himself at the end of his long career. When he wasn't behind the wheel, he'd often be found on horseback and loved to ride whenever he could. He was also an avid fisherman and knew the peace that only comes with a rod and reel in hand. Steve often spent his time at home in the kitchen...and boy, did that man know how to whip up some good ol' fashioned southern cooking! He was also known to make vast quantities of food, enough to feed an army. Those who are left behind to mourn his passing will remember him as a tough man who still maintained the capacity to love without end. This love was evident in his relationships with his children and grandchildren. They have the privilege of holding his legacy in their hearts for as long as they live. Funeral services will be private, and Steve will be laid to rest in the Robinson New Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to his memorial fund, with checks made payable to "Goodwine Funeral Homes". Checks may be mailed to: Goodwine Funeral Homes 303 E Main St. Robinson, IL 62454 The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements.
