Shirley Ann Miller, 73, of Robinson, IL, died on September 7, 2022, in the comfort of her home.
Shirley was born on October 19, 1948, in Sumner, IL, the daughter of Arthur Leonard & Pauline Geneive Martin, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Sandy Isom and Betty Donavan, and by her brother, Jack Martin.
She married Roger Miller on October 9, 1978, and he survives. She is also survived by her children, Roger Jr. & Amy Miller, Tammy & Jeff Murray, Richard & Brandy Miller, Velda Chiasson, Matthew Miller, and Mark & Amber Miller; by 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; by her sisters, Jerry Rinehart, Susan Beline and Linda Wertz; by her brother, Arthur Martin; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Shirley grew up in Sumner, IL, and began her work career at the Robinson Shoe Factory before moving on to Victor Dana, where she would spend the next 40 years. Away from work, Shirley embraced her home. It would be her sanctuary, a place to care for her children and grandchildren, and a place to raise her horses, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
When she wasn't busy with the children and grandchildren, she enjoyed raccoon hunting with Roger and playing Bingo.
Shirley was a good woman with a good nature, but anyone that knew her knew she was not afraid to speak her mind. All family and friends will miss her kind-hearted personality.
It was Shirley's wish to be cremated without public services. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements.
