Shirley Ann Osborn, 62 of Robinson, IL, died at 10:44 p.m. (e.s.t.) Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, IN. She was born March 28, 1947 in Jasper County, IL, the daughter of Anita Miller Bergbower and Theodore J. Bergbower. She graduated from St. Thomas and Newton Community High School. She graduated from Olney Central College and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Chicago University. She received her Master Degree from Indiana State University. She taught in the Crawford County School system and at Lincoln Trail College. Shirley was the Youth Educator for the University of Illinois. After retirement she managed the Casey’s stores in Robinson and Palestine. She was a member of the Katherine Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, a Girl Scout Leader and a 4H Club Leader. She married Floyd R. Osborn March 8, 1980 and he survives. She is also survived by her mother, Anita Bergbower, rural Newton; her son, Jesse W. Osborn, Robinson; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Michele Fitts and her husband Donald, Robinson, Richele Beard and her husband, Scott, Flat Rock, and Jackie Osborn, Robinson; 3 step daughters Debra Heleine, Robinson, Deeanna Rogers and her husband, Kenny, Gaffney, SC, and Joanna Tanneur, Robinson. She is also survived by 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Ruth Bergbower, Newton, and Gene and Judy Bergbower, Olney; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Marge and Ralph Boatman, Flat Rock, and Debbie Clark, Yale; 4 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; and 1 great grandson.She was preceded in death by her father and her brother-in-law, Dennis Clark.Funeral services are Monday, November 16th at 10:00 a.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Brother Jack Cunningham is in charge of services. Burial is in the Hutsonville Cemetery. Visitation is from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, November 15th and until service time on Monday. Memorials may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled Children, with envelopes at the funeral home.
