Sheryl Lynn Cleaves, 62, of Newbern, Tennessee died on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at her residence in Newbern, Tennessee.


Born Monday, April 10, 1961 in Robinson, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Arthur McCormick and the late Bessie Alice Tracy McCormick. She was a former customer service agent for Dyersburg Electric System. She was a member of First Christian Ministries.



She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Daniel Scott Cleaves of Newbern, Tennessee; one son, Jeremy Alan Cleaves (Belinda) of Dover, Florida; one daughter, Janelle Lynn Cleaves (Sam Miller) of Margarettsville, North Carolina and three grandchildren, Landon Fowler, Dani Fowler and Jasen Cleaves.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Rev. Larry Leo McCormick and Randall Ray McCormick and one sister, Marjorie Osborn.


A Celebration of Life Services for Mrs. Cleaves will be held at 5:00 PM on Sunday, January 14, 2024, in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Rev. David Powell. Visitation for Mrs. Cleaves will be held on Sunday from 4:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Another time of visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 28th, at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson.
