Shelene A. Thompson Carlson, 88 of Essex, IA, formerly of Flat Rock, IL, died February 22, 2006 in Essex, IA. She was born September 1, 1917 in Flat Rock, IL, the daughter of Walter Thompson and Bess Bright Thompson.She is survived by 2 brothers and a sister-in-law, Richard and Norma Thompson, Robinson and Byrl Thompson, Robinson; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Bernice and Woody Mundhenk, Robinson, Elizabeth and Bob Clutts, Lawrenceville; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; and 5 brothers, Gene, Harold, Howard, Charles and John Thompson.Private family graveside services will be held Saturday, May 12, 2007 at the Jones Cemetery, rural Flat Rock. The Goodwine Funeral Home, Flat Rock is in charge of arrangements.
