Sharon Miller, 76, of Oblong, IL, died on September 20, 2020, surrounded by her beloved family. She was born on June 24, 1944, in Stockton, CA, the daughter of Ethel Francis (Hill) Miller and Demer Daniel Miller, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her sister Ruth "Pat" Minan; by her brothers, Demer Dewayne Miller, David Miller, Jimmy Dale Miller. She is survived by her sons, Brian Slavin and Troy Miller; by her grandson, Richard Miller; and by her great-grandson, Viktor Miller. Sharon grew up in California and was a graduate of Edison High School. She would go on to attend beauty school and even owned a beauty salon until poor health forced her out of the workplace. That being said, she refused to let dust settle under her feet. The rest of her life was spent tending to her house and all those who called it "home". When her boys were young, she'd occupy herself by keeping score at their Little League games. At home, free time often found her crocheting, knitting, or quilting, and over the course of her 76 years, she had pieced together countless treasures for her family and friends. She was also known to thumb through Harlequin romance novels and had an entire library's worth of books to her name! Upon moving to Crawford County, she took up water aerobics at Lincoln Trail College, and this was something that kept her young as she advanced in age. If you knew her, you could bear witness to two truths: she loved her family, and she loved her Lord. Though she was a longtime attendee of the First Christian Church in Oblong, it was the love that she poured out daily that pointed to her Savior. We are thankful that the faith that sustained Sharon in this life will continue to sustain her forever. Her family will be conducting a service at a later date. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements.
