Sharon Lynn Wesley

September 25, 1939 — October 28, 2022

Sharon Lynn Wesley, 83, of Flat Rock, IL, passed away on October 28, 2022, at Robinson Rehab and Nursing. She was born on September 25, 1939, in Flat Rock, the daughter of Ralph Miller & Erma (Weger) Miller, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Bette Dixon and Patricia Hotsenpiller and her brother, Robert "Bob" Miller.

She is survived by her children, Denise & Lyle Crane and Steve & Tammy Wesley; by her grandchildren & their spouses, Jason & Anne Watts and April Wilcox; by her great-grandchildren, Ayla Watts, Remington Spencer, Lexie Watts, Liam Watts, and Cannon Wilcox; by her step-granddaughter, Paige McCoy; by her sister & brother-in-law, Carolyn Sue & Dick Kent; by her brother & sister-in-law, Terry & Irma Miller; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A 1957 graduate of Flat Rock High School, Sharon would go on to find work with L.S. Heath, where she proudly worked as a line operator for 30 years before retiring in 2001, but not before making many dear friends. They could attest to her hard work and dedication and would speak of Sharon as gentle and soft-spoken in the workplace.

Time at home often found her in her kitchen, whipping up her famous apple salad or angel food cake. The owner of the world's biggest sweet tooth, Sharon's diet wasn't complete without pecan pie or butter pecan ice cream! When she wasn't in the kitchen, she busied herself by working on word searches and puzzles. These provided her with countless hours of entertainment, as did watching game shows and, of course, listening to RFD. That's not all she listened to, however, as she was known to make her way to K.E. Newell's to enjoy some good old-fashioned bluegrass music every Thursday night!

In the twilight years of her life, she found a church family at Grace United Methodist Church. They, as well as anyone else fortunate enough to know her, could each speak to her sassy nature and will remember with fondness that crooked smile that said "I love you" without having to say a word. And yet, she never failed to express the love she had for her family. We are thankful for that love and will hold it dear until, by the grace of God, we meet again!

A time of visitation will be held from 3:00-6:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 3rd, at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Flat Rock.
