Sharon Eileen Mcschooler

July 13, 1940 — December 14, 2020

Sharon Eileen McSchooler, 80, of Robinson, IL, died December 14, 2020, at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson, IL. She was born July 13, 1940, in a little house on Plum Street in Robinson, the daughter of Joseph & Viola (Nethery) Seaney. She grew up in Robinson, home of the Sugar Bowl, where she met the love of her life, Don. The rest, as they say, is history. They were married April 6, 1957 and would go on to enjoy 55 years of life together, seeing the world and experiencing the riches of companionship until he preceded her in death on August 9, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her parents; by her siblings, Fern Etta Wilson, Leonard "Jake" Seaney, Mabel Lorene Alumbaugh, Harold R. Seaney, Betty Jo Clark, and Sandra Sue Hodge; and by her daughter-in-law, Debbie McSchooler. She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Tammy & Bill Lamb (Robinson, IL); by her son & son-in-law, Rick McSchooler & Rick Wilson (Robinson, IL); by her grandchildren, Kim & Dusty Rahn, Derek McSchooler, and Darci McSchooler; by her brothers-in-law, Lester & Gloria McSchooler (Camden, IL), David "Sonny" & Norma McSchooler (Mattoon, IL); by her sister-in-law, Bernice Seaney (Evansville, IN); as well as several nieces and nephews. Sharon worked for a number of local businesses but was most known as a familiar face at Gallos Red & White, where she worked for 30 years. Weekends often found Sharon & Don at the casino in Evansville, where they enjoyed countless hours of gambling fun together. She was also quite the avid pinochle and poker player, as her family could attest. Few things brought her more joy than playing cards with those she loved...the notable exception to this was shopping! Sharon was one of those rare souls who looked good in whatever she was wearing, which was often tiger stripes and leopard prints. She was also pretty handy in the kitchen, as evidenced by her famous ham salad, a dish enjoyed by nearly everyone who was fortunate to have known her. They will remember Sharon McSchooler as an ornery, happy soul who loved from a depth that pointed to her faith in God; a faith that has been made sight. We all will miss this lovely lady's warm smile as well as the joy with which she lived her wonderful, beautiful life. Due to the newly-increased public safety measures being enforced by the State of Illinois, funeral services will be private. However, a live stream of her service will be available to the public starting at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 18th. This can be done on Goodwine Funeral Homes' Facebook page or by going to https://www.goodwinefuneralhomes.com/live-stream/live-stream . Sharon will be laid to rest in Oak Grove Cemetery. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to either the "Robinson Area Food Pantry" or to "Shriners Hospitals for Children". Checks may be mailed to: Goodwine Funeral Homes 303 E Main St Robinson, IL 62454
