Sarah Hightshoe-Decker

August 13, 1959 — May 8, 2020

Sarah Hightshoe-Decker, 60, of Robinson, IL, died May 8, 2020, at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute, IN. She was born August 13, 1959, in Midland, TX, the daughter of Eugene & Mary O'Dell (Wagner) Davis, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Billy Ray Davis, as well as a brother, Clarence Edward Davis in infancy; by her sister, Elizabeth Marie Hollings; and by her daughter-in-law, Lacee Hightshoe. She married Greg Decker on April 8, 2000, and he survives. She is also survived by her sons, Matthew Hightshoe and Luke Hightshoe; by her daughter & son-in-law, Jennifer & Tim Kamplain; by her grandchildren, Spencer Hightshoe, Sydney Hightshoe, Jordan Hightshoe, Adrianne Hightshoe, Meleah Hightshoe, and Niah Hightshoe; and by her brother, Roy Gene Davis; and by her sister, Angela & Darrell Kelley; as well as a number of nieces and nephews. Sarah grew up in, "the Garden of Eden of the United States", Ruidoso, NM, where she was a standout athlete, to the point that she was offered a scholarship to play basketball. She moved to Illinois in the 1980s, where she found work with a local insurance agency. Her friendly, outgoing nature led her to thrive in the insurance business, and she won numerous awards for her outstanding work. That being said, if you knew Sarah, you'd know that the only work that really mattered to her was Kingdom work. A co-pastor of Tree of Life Ministries alongside her best friend and husband, Greg, it was evident that she loved the Lord with all her heart, with all her soul, with all her mind, and with all her strength. Over her 60 years, she selflessly poured herself out for others, touching countless lives in the process. If there was a need, Sarah was driven to fill it; if there was darkness, Sarah worked tirelessly to bring light. Hers was a life of sacrifice. In short, she gave us a beautiful picture of Jesus. We who are left behind will miss her countless gifts: her beautiful smile and incredible voice; her impeccable sense of style and the grace with which she carried herself; the knowledge and wisdom she poured out to those fortunate to call her "friend"; and the love she had for her Lord, her husband, her children, and her grandchildren. These things and many more will be remembered for years to come, but the work she accomplished for the Kingdom is eternal. Sarah Hightshoe-Decker has fought the good fight, she has finished the race, and she has kept the faith. In light of the CDC's recommendation and the State of Illinois' mandate to limit public gatherings to no more than ten people, there will be no public visitation. However, Sarah's family would like to invite you to take part by viewing the livestream of her service at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 14th.
