Sandra Kay Bonnell

Sandra Kay Bonnell, 83, of Robinson, IL, died on October 22, 2021, at Arbor Rose in Robinson, IL. Sandra was born on June 25, 1938, in Palestine, IL, the daughter of Harold Inboden & Glenore (Ikemire) Jones, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her stepfather Bryl Jones. She married Larry Bonnell on February 28, 1958, and he survives. She is also survived by her children, Cheryl & Roger Hamilton (Linton, IN) and Douglas Bonnell (Flat Rock, IL); by her grandchildren, Daniel & Jessica Bonnell, Heather Clements & Gage Daughtery and Jennifer Bonnell & Murray Melton, by her 10 great-grandchildren; by her stepsisters, Melody Tedford and Marilyn & Dean Urfer; as well as several niece and nephews. Kay was a 1956 graduate of Robinson High School and attended Terre Haute Business College. She was one of the first keypunch operators in Crawford County and would later work in the office for Briggs Pottery and Kemper. As her family grew, she stayed home to take care of her family. For ten-plus years, Kay enjoyed volunteering for the city park youth concessions for softball and baseball. Kay had a knack for sewing, especially seamstress work and knitting. But one of her true hobbies was talking on the phone with her friend, Carla Norton. She was a member of Robinson First United Methodist Church. A time of visitation will be held from 4:00 PM-7:00 PM on Tuesday, October 26th, at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 27th, with Rev. Jay Regennitter officiating, assisted by Rev. Tom Akers. Burial will follow in the Robinson New Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to RHS Athletic Booster and Robinson Girls Softball. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
