Samuel Robert "Bob" Pettigrew

Samuel R. "Bob" Pettigrew, 68, passed away on December 10, 2024, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospital in Mattoon, IL.

He was born on September 20, 1956, to Samuel & Bette Pettigrew in Lawrenceville, IL.

On January 8, 1977, he married Marsha R. Drum, who survives him.

Bob is also survived by his two sons, Christopher (Amber) Pettigrew and Jacob (Courtney) Pettigrew; six grandchildren, Kaylee, Kainen, Delaney, Breana, Hudson, and Chase, who were his pride and joy and could do no wrong in Grandpa's eyes. Additionally, he is survived by his niece, Jennifer (Travis) Cox; one great-nephew, Bryce Cox; and one great-niece, Brooke Cox. Chris Jones, a close family friend, was like another son, always hanging out at his house.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel & Bette Pettigrew; one sister, Debra Tingley; one brother, Doug Pettigrew; and one son, Anthony Joseph Pettigrew, who passed away at birth.

Bob worked as an over-the-road truck driver, traveling through 46 states and Canada. He loved seeing the country while making a living.

Per his wishes, Bob will be cremated, and no public services will be held. The Prust-Hosch Funeral Home in West Union, IL, is entrusted with his care and arrangements.
