Ruth Jane Barrick

Ruth Jane Barrick, 87, of Palestine, IL, died at 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at her residence. She was born May 30, 1923 in Hutsonville, IL, the daugher of John O. Goff and Lula Sluder Goff. She worked at the Case Pottery and retired from Hershey after over 20 years of service. She was a member of the Pilgrim Holiness Church.Ruth married Ralph Eugene Barrick on October 13, 1940 and he preceded her in death on May 8, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents; 5 brothers, Joe, Charles, Orville, Harold, and Earl Goff; and 2 sisters, Geneva Bullus and Hattie McIntyre.She is survived by her 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ellen and Don Woods, Newton, LaDonna Jean and Bob Tidwell, Palestine; her son and daughter-in-law, Ralph Wayne and Joyce Barrick, rural Robinson; 17 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 sisters and her brother-in-law, Opal and Jim Corder, Robinson, Wilma Montgomery, Robinson; and her brother and sister-in-law, John O. and Myra Goff, Robinson.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 29th at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine with Rev. Paul Gray officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, rural Palestine. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 28th at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the New Hebron Christian School with envelopes available at the funeral home.
