Roy Dewayne Norton

Roy Dewayne Norton, 70 of rural Robinson, died Friday, October 3, 2008 at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson. He was born July 8, 1938 in Palestine, the son of Emery Roger Norton and Alice Madge Fox Norton. Roy was a fireman for the Robinson Fire Department for 34 years, retiring in 2000. He had attended the First Christian Church in Hutsonville.He married Joyce Mickey on August 30, 1965 and she survives. He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Renne` and Donald Shook, Robinson; his step son, James Robert Gibson, Indianapolis, IN; 4 grandchildren, Heather Shook, Ball, LA, Mickey Shook, Robinson, Mary Ann Gibson, Robinson, and Nick Gibson, Indianapolis; his sister, Rowena Norton, Robinson; 2 brothers, his twin brother, Ray Norton, Palestine, and Ronney Norton and his wife Anita, Duquoin; his mother-in-law, Mary Lou Fowler, Palestine; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Richard and Charles Norton. There will be cremation with a visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 9th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Memorials may be made to the Robinson Fire Department for the 'Toys for Tots' with envelopes at the funeral home.
