Rosemary M. Bahr

August 5, 1921 — April 11, 2020

Rosemary Maud (Love) Bahr, age 98, passed away peacefully among family in Crawfordsville, IN on Saturday, April 11, 2020. She was born on August 5, 1921 in Duncanville, IL, to the late Harry Ellis Love & Madge Irene (Newlin) Love, both of whom preceded her in death. On August 31, 1940, she married her beloved Louis Joseph Bahr in Robinson, IL, and they enjoyed 64 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on May 31, 2004. Also preceding her in death were her daughters, Donna (Darrold) McCormick of Crawfordsville, IN, and Dennie (Thomas) Deedrick of Crawfordsville, IN; her son, David Bahr of Robinson, IL; her brother, Harry Newlin Love of Indianapolis, IN; her sisters, Marjorie (Mike) Chilcote of Robinson, IL, and Christine Harris of Robinson, IL; her brother-in-law, Edward (Kathleen) Bahr of Oblong, IL; and her sister-in-law, Catherine (Newton) Thombleson of Washington, IN. Rosemary is survived by her daughter, Jean-Marie Phillips of Ingleside, IL; by 6 grandchildren: Darin (Adriana) McCormick of Glastonbury, CT, Darcy (Thomas) Weiler of Crawfordsville, IN, Thomas (Penny) Deedrick of Crawfordsville, IN, Tina JO (Tony) Helton of Crawfordsville, IN, Ashley Deedrick of West Lafayette, IN, and Cameron Phillips of Chicago, IL; by 10 great-grandchildren: Alexis Weiler of Crawfordsville, IN, Alexandria McCormick of Glastonbury, CT, Samantha McCormick of Glastonbury, CT, Calli (Richard) Mayotte of Crawfordsville, IN, Paige(Tori) Lamb of Crawfordsville, IN, Rebeccah Scrimpsher of Springfield, IL, Colton Scrimpsher of Kingfisher, OK, Amber Helton of Crawfordsville, IN, Meagan Helton of Crawfordsville, IN, and Isabell Helton of Crawfordsville, IN; by her sister-in-law, Terry Love of Pensacola, FL; and many more family members and friends. Rosemary grew up during the Great Depression, and this laid the groundwork for the strong, prudent woman she was to become. Though she was one of the first secretaries hired by the newly-founded Lincoln Trail College in 1969, her life was dedicated to caring for her house and all those who called it, "home". Outside of the home, she served on the Robinson Zoning Board of Appeals and was involved with the Crawford County Campfire Girls. She was also a member of the Business and Professional Womens Club and Daughters of the American Revolution. Her twilight years found Rosemary immersed in her family's genealogy. For her, this was a great source of both enjoyment and fulfillment, which should come as no surprise, seeing as how the entirety of her life revolved around her family. She left her mark on each of them, and her legacy continues on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Rosemary deserves a memorable tribute. However, in this uncertain time, the family and the staff of the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson understand that attending such a service may not be in your best health interest. With this in mind, a private interment will be held at the Tohill Cemetery, rural Flat Rock IL, and a memorial service will be set for a later date.
