Rosemary Daugherty

Rosemary Daugherty, 90, of West Unions, IL, died at 8:12 a.m. on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Willowbrook in Marshall, IL. She was born May 3, 1928 in Greenwood County, KS, the daughter of Othello “Thel” Stanfield & Theresa (Nidey) Stanfield, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Dennis Daugherty on January 2, 1947 and he preceded her in death on June 20, 2015. She was also preceded in death by her son, David Daugherty; by her daughter, Teresa “Na” Daugherty; and by her brothers, Ralph Cornwell, Garnett Cornwell, Forrest Bud Stanfield, Kenneth Stanfield; by her sisters, Ruby Cornwell, Lorene Gard, Pauline Pinkston, and Betty Richards. She is survived by her two sons, Neal Daugherty (Okeechobee, FL) and Brad & Debbie Daugherty (West Union, IL); by her two daughters, Barbara Mendenhall (West Union, IL) and Denise & Gary Cox (West Union, IL); by 16 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was a member of the West Union First Baptist Church, and a 50-year member of Marshall OES #313. In her younger days, Rosemary liked to fish with Dennis, camp with their Holiday Rambler group, and spend time with family and friends. Her eyes would just light up when her grandkids would come over. Rosemary had a caring heart and will be remembered for her beautiful smile and warm nature. A time of visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 17th at the Prust-Hosch Funeral Home in West Union. Services will immediately follow and will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Bros. Randy Nave and Billy Adams officiating. Burial will be in York Cemetery. Memorials may be made to either Lincolnland Hospice or to the West Union First Baptist Church, with envelopes at the funeral home.
