Rosalie "Sue" Youngman, 78, of Oblong, IL, died on February 27, 2021, at Cotillion Ridge in Robinson, IL. She was born February 6, 1943, in Robinson, IL, the daughter of Orville "Gene" York & Lorna Yvonne (Jones) Butler, both of whom preceded her in death. She married James "J.R." Youngman on July 15, 1981, and he preceded her in death on August 6, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Leroy York; by her sister, Carol Murray; and by her grandsons, Casey Tracey and Richard Jenkins. She is survived by her children, Yvonna & Jeremy Dunlap, Melissa Jenkins & Leon Giger, Jeffery Richards; grandchildren, Amanda Jenkins, Andrea & Jason Greenwell, Ashley & Jeff Sparks, Mavrick & Ashten Richards, Macey Richards and Jeremiah Richards; by her great-grandchildren, Corbin Greenwell, Cameron Greenwell, Madison Shidler, Owen Sparks, Skyler Richards, and Greyson Richards; by her sisters & brothers-in-law, Becky & Danny Mundhenk, Lorna & Phil Freeman and Cheryl Bumgardner; as well as several nieces and nephews. Sue was born and raised in Crawford County and was a graduate of Oblong High School. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing her could attest to the woman's love of travel. She took in the beauty of God's creation at destinations such as Virginia, Hawaii, and California and even had the opportunity to live in the golden state for a time in the 1970s. Time at home often found her with a needle and thread in hand, having sewn countless outfits and various treasures for her children and grandchildren throughout her 78 years. It was evident that she loved her family with all her heart. She was always thrilled to have those she loved most gathered together and was known to send them early morning texts. They could speak to Sue's one-of-a-kind sense of fashion, as well as her feistiness, as the woman wasn't known to hold her tongue! In the twilight of her life, Sue could be found in one of two places: McDonald's and Prior Grove Baptist Church, where she was a longtime and active member. The former would become a staple of her daily rhythm, as 2:00 p.m. almost always found her with a cup of coffee in hand, shooting the breeze (and paper wads) with the other regulars. The latter pointed to the faith that has made her whole. Years ago, she put her life in Jesus' hands, and so today, we find comfort and assurance that she will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 4th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson, with Celebrant Curt Goodwine officiating. Under Phase 4 Mitigations, public attendance is allowed, but only up to 50 attendees at a time. Thusly, social distancing measures will be in place, and it will be required that all visitors wear face coverings while in the building. During the service, there will be an opportunity for family and friends to share memories of her life. In honor of her love of cats, memorial contributions may be made to the "Crawford County Humane Society", with envelopes available at the funeral home.
