Ronnie Stone passed away peacefully on February 23, 2024, in Evansville, IN, at the age of 76. Born in Grayville, IL, on May 7, 1947, to parents James Arthur Stone and Emily (Jordan) Stone-Moore, both of whom preceded him in death.
Ronnie's early life was spent in the warm, close-knit community of Grayville, where he attended and graduated from Grayville High School. His adventurous spirit led him to join the U.S. Navy, where he honed his skills as a photographer, capturing moments that spanned the mundane to the majestic. Ronnie's service to his country was a point of pride and set the stage for a lifetime of dedication and hard work. After his honorable service, Ronnie transitioned into civilian life with the same commitment and dedication. He retired from Hershey, having dedicated many years to the company, always infusing his work with the creativity that was second nature to him. But it wasn't just his professional life that benefited from his artistic flair; Ronnie's love for music and dancing was contagious. He often reminisced about his favorite concert, headlined by Lynyrd Skynyrd, with a sparkle in his eye that matched the rhythm of the music he so adored.
Those who knew Ronnie will remember him as a man who exemplified the essence of creativity and love. He was a beacon of positivity, always ready with a thumbs-up, a warm smile, and a tale that could transform an ordinary day into an extraordinary one. His superpower was indeed his ability to make people smile, to bring a touch of whimsy to the everyday, ensuring that his spirit will continue to echo in the hearts and minds of his loved ones.
He is survived by his siblings, Marsha & Chuck Gaul, Jeanne Fuller and Pamela & Brian Kennedy; by his daughter & son-in-law, Kelley Ann Suftin-Galloway & Jeff Galloway; by his grandsons & spouse, Stephen Trae & Haley Mcpherson and Dylan Michael Suftin; as well as several nieces and nephews.
