Ronald Seaney

Ronald Seaney, 72, of Palestine, IL, died on July 28, 2022, at Robinson Rehab Nursing in Robinson, IL.

Ronald was born on February 3, 1950, in Robinson, IL, the son of Austin & Alma "Sally" (Herlitz) Seaney, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Richard Seaney and Larry Seaney.

He is survived by his son, Christian Seaney and his girlfriend, Danniel Hartleroad; by his grandson, Spencer Martin; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Ron grew up in Palestine and was a 1968 graduate of Palestine High. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Ron would go to work for Marathon Petroleum for over 25 years.

In his free time, he enjoyed hanging out with friends, whether it was at the racetracks or hanging out on the river with a trotline. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Spending time with friends and family brought him true joy. Ron will be missed for his kind and honest soul.

A time of visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2nd, at Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home, with Pastor Tim Watson officiating. Burial will be in the Palestine Cemetery where military honors will be accorded by the combined units of  the Robinson V.F.W. Post #4549, the Robinson American Legion Post #69, and the Flat Rock American Legion Post #132. Memorial contributions may be made to Palestine Food Bank, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
