Ronald E. Jenkins, 76, of Palestine, IL, died December 9, 2020 at his home due to natural causes. He was born July 2, 1944, the son of Glen Earl Jenkins & Marjorie Evon (Knapp) Jenkins. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy in the early-to-mid 1960s. Throughout his life, Ron worked many jobs all over the country before finding his way back home to Crawford County. Here, he worked as an associate at Wal-Mart, a job he truly loved, as it afforded him the opportunity to talk to people and make many friends. Much of his retirement found Ron sitting on his front porch swing or inside, watching TV with his dog, Nicki at his side. These were moments that brought him peace. We too find peace in knowing that he has been reunited with the loves of his life: his wives, Carolyn (Connor) Jenkins and Eathy (Marshall) Jenkins. He was also preceded in death by his parents; by his brother-in-law, Edward Dhom; and by his sister-in-law, Donna (Decker) Jenkins. He is survived by his daughter, Malissa Jenkins (AZ); by his step-daughter, Amanda Ellis (CA); by his step-sons, Jason Oor (IN) and Robert McKechnie (CA); by his sister, Judith (Jenkins) Dhom (Newton, IL); by his brothers & sister-in-law, Kevin W. & Nancy (Briggs) Jenkins and Michael Jenkins (all of Palestine, IL); by 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; as well as several nieces and nephews. There will be no public services. Ron will be laid to rest at the Oak Grove Cemetery north of Palestine. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine is in charge of arrangements.
