Roger LeRoy Beabout, 60 of Palestine, IL, died at 6:41 a.m. (EST) Thursday, April 29, 2010 at the Indianapolis Veteran€™s Administration Medical Center. He was born January 11, 1950 in Terre Haute, IN to Robert Beabout and Nina Clemens Beabout. He served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War; was a lifetime member of the Robinson V. F. W. Post #4549; lifetime member of the Amvets Post #33; lifetime member of the Cooties; and a member of the Flat Rock American Legion Post #132. He worked at the Pottery in Robinson as a Kilnsman.Roger married Shirley Rich on May 30, 1969 and she survives. He is also survived by his three children and their spouses, Kristie and Dusty Elder, Palestine, Brandy and Todd Monti, Palestine, Rusty and Lindsay Beabout, Palestine; 10 grandchildren, McKenna, Tyson, Dawson, Tarryn, Keegan, Tailar, Alivia, Avry, Kinsler, and Ryerson; his 5 brothers and sisters-in-law, Ralph and Karen Beabout, Annapolis, Steven and Shirley Swartz, Springfield, Rusty and Vicki Swartz, Hutsonville, Rocky Beabout, Hutsonville, Kip Beabout, Florida; his mother, Toots Beabout, Robinson; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. As per Roger€™s wishes, his body has been donated to science and presented to the Indiana University Medical Center for research. A visitation will be held on Monday, May 3rd at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Military honors will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. by the combined units of the Robinson V. F. W. Post #4549, the Amvets Post #33, the Robinson American Legion Post #69 and the Flat Rock American Legion Post #132.Memorials may be made to the Amvets Post #33 or the Robinson V. F. W. Post #4549 with envelopes at the funeral home.
