Robin Catt

July 19, 1960 — February 20, 2019

Robin Catt, 58, of Robinson, IL, died at 9:10 a.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at his home. He was born on July 19, 1960 in Sullivan, IN, the son of Sue (Smith) Catt, who preceded him in death on December 5, 2015. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter & Dixie Smith. He married Robin Stigler on April 16, 2016, and she survives. He is also survived by his step-children, Lacey York & significant other, Dale Chapman (Casey, IL), Jenny & Corey Freels (Merom, IN), and Daniel York & significant other, Jennifer Stephens (Robinson, IL); by his step-grandchildren, Addison, Jake, Elizabeth, Connor, Xander, Carleigh, and Elias; by his sister, Tina Catt (Vincennes, IN); and by his nephews, their spouses, and their families, Kale & Libby Shelton & family (Evansville, IN) and Carson & Conner Gaines & family (Dugger, IN). Robin grew up in the Robinson area before serving his country in the U.S. Army for a time. He was proud of his service and would become a longtime member of both V.F.W. Post #4549 and American Legion Post #69. Over his life, he worked for a number of local businesses: he was a mowing foreman at Quail Creek Country Club, a vault professional for Rex Vault in Newton, and even ran his own business, Great Outdoors Lawn Care, for several years. For the last 2 and a half years, he worked for Victor Dana in Robinson, where he worked as a press operator alongside his wife, Robin. Outside of work, much of his time was spent bow in hand, be that as a professional archer shooting in competitions, or out deer hunting. An outdoorsman through and through, he spent countless hours with a fishing pole in hand and rode on several poker runs over the years. Robin will long be remembered as one of those rare men who thrived at whatever he put his heart and soul into. He worked hard and loved fully, and this will live on as his lasting legacy. A time of visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 22nd at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Burial will be held at a later date in the Kirk Cemetery. Memorials may be made to “Toys for Tots”, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
