Robert Lee "Mac" Mccallister

Robert Lee "Mac" McCallister, 80, of Oakley, IL, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Mac was born March 22, 1942, in Swansea, IL. He married Beverly Ann Gower on October 22, 1962, in Granite City, IL. Mac retired from Decatur Caterpillar after 34 years of service. He loved all kinds of outdoor yard work and gardening, but most of all, spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his son Michael (Tammy) McCallister of Cerro Gordo; two granddaughters, Angelique Leeann and Autumn Louise; one sister, Lois McCallister of Ruma, Illinois; two brothers-in-law, Roger Gower of Champaign, IL and Gregory (Sue) Gower of Hutsonville, IL; two sisters-in-law, Chloe Gower of Tilden, IL and Betty Crutcher of Palestine, IL; 2 nieces, two nephews, three great-nieces and one great-nephew; and one great-great-niece.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly; his parents, Oscar & Ellen Crutcher; his brothers, Bob Crutcher and John Crutcher; and his biological parents and several siblings.

Honoring Mac's wishes, private family services will be held at the Hutsonville Cemetery, where his remains will be interred alongside his wife, Bev. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of these arrangements.
