Robert L. Ingram

Robert L. Ingram, 80, of Robinson, IL, died at 5:30 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2008 at his home. He was born June 5, 1928 in Lake Village, IN, the son of Richard Lee Ingram and Elsie Lee Lewark Ingram. He was a truck driver and was a member of the Teamsters Local # 705 in Chicago. He was also a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Robinson. Robert married Loretta Lumpp and she preceded him in death. He then married Margie May Allen on May 23, 1981, and she too preceded him in death on July 27, 2004. He was also preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Carol Battista and Loretta Townsend; and two sisters, Kathryn Austin and Vera Higginbotham.He is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Karen Ingram, Summerville, SC, David and Shirley Ingram, Wilmington, IL, Joseph Ingram, Wilmington, and Richard Brown, Elmhurst, IL; one daughter and son-in-law, Roberta and Jessie Ahearn, Galesburg, IL; his son-in-law, Arthur Townsend, Chicago; many grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four sisters, June Boger, Minot, ND, Alice Nowotnik, Wauconda, IL, and twin sisters Sara and Shirley; and several nieces and nephews.Visitation will be Tuesday, June 17th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. He will then be taken to the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home in Joliet, IL for visitation from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 19th. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home in Joliet at 12:00 p.m. Friday, June 20th with visitation prior to the service. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery, in Evergreen Park, IL. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
