Robert Franklin LeLoup, 72, of Marshall, passed away at 10:22 a.m. on Monday, June 18, 2018 at his home. He was born on June 21, 1945 in Gary, IN, the son of Norman LeLoup & Opal (Beaugher) LeLoup; both of whom preceded him in death. He also preceded in death by his son, Randy LeLoup; by his daughter, Marla Michelle LeLoup; by his sisters, Leona Taylor and Edna Clark; and by his brother, Emile Leloup. He is survived by his sons & daughters-in-law, Robert & Mary LeLoup (Danville, IL) and Douglas & Kim LeLoup (Chrisman); by his daughters, Dawn Marie and Jessica Marie; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; by his brothers & sister-in-law, Chester LeLoup and Leonard & Pearl LeLoup. Robert proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1965-1967. Along the way, he earned a Rifle Sharpshooter Badge as well as a National Defense Service Medal. Back home, he did a little bit of everything, from construction and welding to carpentry and truck driving. Away from work, he enjoyed spending time with his family when he could. In recent years, his faith took on a very important role in his life, and he was a member of the Marshall Baptist Church. He will be remembered as a man who truly lived life his own way. A time of visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 26th at the Marshall Baptist Church in Marshall, IL. Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Danville National Cemetery in Danville, IL. Memorials may be made to either the Marshall Baptist Church or to the Wounded Warrior Project, with envelopes available at the church. The Prust-Hosch Funeral Home in West Union, IL is in charge of arrangements.
