Rita K Yeager

Rita K. Yeager, 73, of Palestine, IL, died on October 22, 2021, at Arbor Rose in Robinson, IL. Rita was born on November 18, 1947, in Robinson, IL, the daughter of Robert & Esther (Guyer) York, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Yeager, in 2013. She is survived by her brother & sister-in-law, Robert & Cindy York; by her nephew, Joel & Missy York; by her nieces, Michelle & Clayton Bishop and Jennifer & Matt McCoy; by one great-niece, Baylee Bishop and five great-nephews, Cody York, Brady York, Fisher Bishop, Colby McCoy and Campbell McCoy. Rita was a 1965 graduate of Palestine High School, and she earned her Bachelors' Degree from Eastern Illinois University in 1969. She would become a high school math teacher for over 24 years in Shelby, Michigan. Rita and her husband Bill enjoyed traveling all over the United States in their camper. They found Henderson, Nevada, as their favorite traveling site and decided to make that their retirement home. After her husband's passing, Rita decided to move back to Palestine, IL, to spend more time with her family. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. A time of visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 29th, at Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home, with Pastor Karen Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Palestine Cemetery.
