Richard "Rick" Poorman

Richard €œRick€ Poorman, 52, of West Union, died on Saturday, October 9, 2010. He was born November 14, 1957 in Sullivan, IN, the son of Dale M. Poorman and Carolyn R. Gurley Poorman. Rick was a paramedic for the Robinson, West Union and Lawrenceville areas and taught paramedics through Frontier College. He was a past district manager for Ferrellgas in West Union and Olney. Rick was a member, treasurer and past deacon of the West Union Christian Church. He was also a past member of the West Union Ruritan Club.He married Pamela Heleine on August 8, 1982, and she survives. He is also survived by his parents; his son, Andrew Poorman, Chicago, IL; his daughter, Kaycee Poorman, West Union; one sister and brother-in-law, Brenda & Steve Atwood, West Union; his brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie & Bridget Poorman; as well as several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his sister, Jodi Poorman in infancy and his brother-in-law, Donnie Heleine.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at the West Union Christian Church. Pastors Terry Henry and Jack Gabbert will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Harrison Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at the church. Memorials may be made to the West Union Christian Church Parsonage Building Fund, with envelopes available at the church.
