Rhea Adams, 82, of Robinson, IL, died at 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Ridgeview Care Center in Oblong, IL. She was born May 18, 1936 in Robinson. Rhea grew up in the Robinson area and worked for a number of local businesses through the years; from L.S. Heath & Sons and Crawford Memorial Hospital to Marty’s Produce and finally, Wal-Mart, where she was a staple of the fabric department. Much of her time away from work was spent in the kitchen, where she demonstrated exceptional skill. Her family and friends were the fortunate beneficiaries of her delicious, one-of-a-kind creations. She simply loved spending time with people, and few things thrilled her more than gathering with those she loved most in this world. They will remember a fun, outgoing soul who could light up any room she walked into. A woman of faith, she was a longtime and active member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church in Robinson. There is peace in knowing that she accepted Christ as her Savior long ago, and that today, she is experiencing paradise. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Frye & Dorothy (York) Frye. She was also preceded in death by her step-brother, Don York. She married Richard Adams at the Otterbein United Methodist Church in 1953, and they were married for 65 years before her passing. She is also survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Rhonda & Les Moade (Robinson, IL); by her son, Roger Earl Adams (Robinson, IL); by three grandchildren & their spouses, Aimee & Chris Weber (Robinson, IL), James & Amy Moade (NC), Lacee & Pat Keller (Huntley, IL), and Jason Adams(CO); by her great-grandchildren, Conner Weber, Cydnee Weber, Peyton Moade, Pierson Moade, Palmer Moade, Aria Keller, and Adler Keller; and by her step-sister, Susie Hancock (Palestine, IL). A time of visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 31st at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 1st at the funeral home with burial following in the Robinson New Cemetery. Rev. Judy Williams will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Otterbein United Methodist Church, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
