Rex A. Delp, 71, of West Union, IL, died on October 24, 2019, at Springhill Village in Terre Haute, IN. He was born February 11, 1948, the son of Ralph & Imogene (Taylor) Delp, both of whom preceded him in death. He married Cindy Kelley on September 20, 1977, and she preceded him in death on March 1, 2011. He was also preceded in death by his son, Tony Kelley. He is survived by his son & daughter-in-law, Timothy & Crystal Delp (Paris, IL); by his daughter, Autumn Delp (West Union, IL); by his grandchildren, Abby Delp, Dylan Hoyt, Sadie Kelley, Riley Choatie, and Alexus Delp; by his brothers & sisters-in-law, Ron Delp (Marshall, IL), Mike & Mindy Delp (Marshall, IL), Bryan & Amy Delp (Marshall, IL), and Don & Diane Delp (Hawkinsville, GA); as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Rex grew up in the Marshall area, and was a graduate of Marshall High School. He would go on to proudly serve his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He came back home to Marshall for a time before finding work with Polyblend in the Chicago area for over 20 years. When they closed their doors, he was able to get on with North American Lighting in Paris, for whom he worked for 15 years before retiring a little over 5 years ago. His retirement found him enjoying some of his favorite shows, namely Law & Order, NCIS, and numerous westerns! He will be remembered as a quiet man who kept his nose to the grindstone, making his life a good and productive one. A time of visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29th at the Prust-Hosch Funeral Home in West Union, IL.
