Rebecca Jo Kidd

On May 16, 2020, Rebecca Jo Kidd lost her battle with Cancer. She was born in Winchester, Indiana on March 1st, 1958, to James and Mary Pauline (Arnold) Courtney. In January of 1977, she had her only child, Candance (Conner) Potts. In November of 1983, she married Steven Wilson, who had a son, married til 1995. You could always find her fishing or at a family get together. With 11 siblings and multiple cousins, there was always someone around. She worked at Ridgeview Care Center and the Convalescent Center. After a back injury she was the lady you’d find at the local laundry mate. In October 2018 she was diagnosed with lung cancer, which soon over took her body. She was the kind of person either you loved her or you didn’t! She never took bologna from anyone and had no problem telling you the truth even if it wasn’t what you wanted to hear. She came from a huge family and being the second to last child born she rarely got “New” anything. But that is what I believe made her who she was. She could spot “Fake” a mile away. She was always on the side of the underdog. She taught both her children the value of a dollar and respect. She is survived by her daughter Candy/Tim Potts. Step-son Jason/Ellie Wilson. Grandchildren Kelci/Caleb Mason, Conner Potts, Shawnee Renshaw, step-granddaughter Allie McCray. Great grandson Jaxon Mason. Two sisters Paulette/Richard Chiddix, Sheila York. Four brothers Sam Courtney, Tim Courtney, Jerry/Sallie Courtney, Tom/Julie Courtney. Sister-in-law Cindy/Mike McReynolds and multiple nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her parents, ex-husband Steve Wilson, two brothers Dave/Rose Courtney, Jack Courtney. Three sisters Pauline Lamb, Onda/John Retter, Joyce Hindsley. Due to the restrictions set forth by the Governor of Illinois, we will not be celebrating the life of our beloved mother, granny, granny-great, sister, and friend. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements.
